Valmont Collaborates for Nashville’s Unique Vision
When Nashville, TN faced a short deadline to build its new convention center, the city trusted Valmont to provide expedited production and ensure timely delivery of industry-leading light poles and traffic structures.
Valmont had previously partnered with the city of Nashville to create a custom pole design called the “Nash”, which features classic styles to enhance the city’s streetscape. This design was used as the standard for the new poles to maintain a consistent look. In addition, the city also wanted the light poles to have a specific arm fixture from another vendor. While cooperation among competitors is unusual in the industry, Valmont collaborated with the firm and placed Nashville’s vision as the highest priority to ensure the city’s complete satisfaction.
Despite the challenge of coordinating phased deliveries among three representatives, Valmont executed the project from start to finish in a 12-month time span – half the time a similar project would typically take. Thanks to Valmont’s strong manufacturing capabilities, custom engineering expertise and willing collaboration, the completed project contributed to the successful opening of the Music City Center in May 2013.
