OMAHA, Neb. – The Valmont Mitigator TR1 continues to gather national recognition in the field of traffic and sign structures. The TR1 is featured prominently in TR [Transportation Research] News 343 (January–February 2023), published by the Transportation Research Board. The article, titled “Vibration Mitigation Boosts Structure Life and Budgets” was written by Carl Macchietto, vice president of product development at Valmont, and Mark Taylor, traffic signal operations engineer at the Utah Department of Transportation in Salt Lake City, Utah., and details the problems of wind vibration on traffic structures, how the TR1 greatly reduces these vibrations, as well as the benefits of effective mitigation on these structures.
